Neala is a Certified Yoga Therapist, dedicated to making yoga more accessible to those living with injury and illness.

Having first been drawn to yoga as a way to manage her own chronic pain, Neala quickly fell in love with the practice. After exploring a variety of treatments that focused solely on the physical body, yoga provided the opportunity to explore the emotional response to pain. From understanding the connection between the emotional response to chronic pain, and how the brain processes pain - she was able to discover a sense of ease in her body and mind while developing practical tools to effectively manage chronic pain.

In 2012, Neala completed her first yoga teacher training in alignment based vinyasa at Honest Yoga in Burlington, Vermont.  She then went on to complete her 500 hour Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga at Ajna Yoga, a member school of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, in Victoria, BC. In 2017 she relocated from Newfoundland, and completed her 800 hour Yoga Therapist Certification.

Slowing down, backing off and tuning more deeply into the experiences within the body and mind are the basic principles of therapeutic yoga. These principles, combined with educational information, empower students to improve functional movements and self-regulate the nervous system, enabling the body to turn on its natural healing mechanism, and improve overall health and wellness. Neala’s calming presence and sense of humour provide a welcoming, safe environment for clients to explore the benefits of therapeutic yoga.
